"Well, I'm quite selfish about my books. I love borrowing from others, but I don't lend mine. Mostly because I'm afraid they're gonna destroy it one way or another. If one of my books are going to be well-worn, I want it to be my doing. And if I give someone a book for a gift, it means I really care for them."

If you tell them to care for it then chances are they will be more careful with it. My friends know how crazy I am about my books so they know that if I lend it to them, I trust them to be gentle.

And that’s what I was trying to say, as long as it’s your copy then you can do what you want with it

day 1: favorite book/series (part 2); the perks of being a wallflower by stephen chbosky

“It’s much easier to not know things sometimes. Things change and friends leave. And life doesn’t stop for anybody. I wanted to laugh. Or maybe get mad. Or maybe shrug at how strange everybody was, especially me. I think the idea is that every person has to live for his or her own life and than make the choice to share it with other people. You can’t just sit there and put everybody’s lives ahead of yours and think that counts as love. You just can’t. You have to do things. I’m going to do what I want to do. I’m going to be who I really am. And I’m going to figure out what that is. And we could all sit around and wonder and feel bad about each other and blame a lot of people for what they did or didn’t do or what they didn’t know. I don’t know. I guess there could always be someone to blame. It’s just different. Maybe it’s good to put things in perspective, but sometimes, I think that the only perspective is to really be there. Because it’s okay to feel things. I was really there. And that was enough to make me feel infinite. I feel infinite.”

"I love goosebumps as well. Just as you, they were the ones that started my love for collecting series. I was in 6th grade and once I read 5 in a day. :)"

I love the regular single stories, the one continues on for  2 or more books, and those choose your endings. I barely remember the stories though, it’s almost 15 years ago :(

It was actually Goosebumps that indirectly led me to Harry Potter. On that fateful day, I was looking for more Goosebumps/Fear Street to buy but I already own all that I saw on the bookstore. Right beside them there was a couple of HP 1 & 2 and I decided to buy those instead since I didn’t want to go home empty-handed. Best decision ever :)

"You should try out the Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage. It might seem too young, but it's pretty amazing. That, and the Inkheart series as well :)"

I’ve read Septimus Heap up to Physik I think. I never continued on though and gave the 4 books (I bought Queste but never read it) to my younger cousin.

"I saw your fantasy-adventure recommendations and saw that you included the Kiesha'ra series. Except for the person who introduced me to Amelia Atwater-Rhodes' books, I've never met another person who has heard of her! You just keep getting more awesome :-)"

Really? I love that series. I didn’t like the Den of Shadows quartet though, but I think it’s more because of the supernatural/vampire theme rather than her writing because the Kieshara ones are awesome :)
